Anna Silk was born in Fredericton as the daughter of Peter Silk, an academic, and Ilkay Silk, a multi-talented actor director, producer, playwright, teacher, as well as Director of Drama in St. Thomas University. Anna was born in Fredericton, the child of Peter Silk and Ilkay Silk. Her mother is an "English-Turkish Cypriot expat" born in Britain. Anna remembers attending the rehearsals of productions as a young girl and watching her mom at work. As a young girl, she appeared in a variety of commercials.
