Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She was co-founder of The Huffington Post, is the founder and CEO of Thrive Global as well an author of fifteen novels. Arianna Huffington is an writer, journalist, TV host and the owner of The Huffington Post. Born in Greece and moved to England at the age of sixteen. When she attended Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA of Economics. The infamous debating society The Cambridge Union was her first time as president, and she held it when she was 21. After the graduation ceremony, she became an influential Conservative syndicated journalist. After a few years later she created The Huffington Post which featured critiques of the current politics. Her fame and popularity helped in getting several high-profile contributors to post their views on politics news and culture. Arianna was famous when she decided to run as an Independent candidate for the California Recall Election in order to succeed former Governor Davis. Arianna was also part of the Detroit-based initiative that advocated for cars that are fuel efficient. Forbes listed her as the top woman in media in 2009. She ranked in the 12th spot on Forbes' ranking. The Guardian added her to the list of 100 most influential media outlets in the year 2009. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post, and she was named president of this media group. The acquisition included a number of AOL products at the time like Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is the daughter of Konstantinos an advisor to management and journalist. They were very close to her father. But it was her relationship with her mother which shaped her. Even during her formative period, she displayed abilities to lead, and for this she is still well-known. As a 16-year-old the girl moved to England in the United Kingdom for her higher education. She attended Girton College Cambridge. While in college she was a member of the college debate society Cambridge Union where she became the third foreign, and first female president. In 1972, she earned an education in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a critic for a newspaper column and a television host.
