Winona-Ryder
Winona Laura Horowitz who is professionally known in the media as Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents named her Winona for her home town. Michel Horowitz is her father and Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder believes she is Jewish and descends from Ryder's Jewish father. Ryder is the younger sister of Uria as well as half-siblings Jubal and Sunyata. When Ryder was just seven years old, her family relocated to Mendocino County California. The family didn't have electricity. Ryder, who read a lot aged 12 became a book worm because Ryder was not able to access television. Ryder began taking acting classes when Ryder was 12, and was enrolled in classes at the American Conservatory Theatre. In 1986 she was offered her first major-screen appearance in the movie Lucas at just 15 years old. Ryder endured bullying while in highschool. She thought that by becoming an actor, her behavior would be changed. Unfortunately, it didn't happen. Still she continued pursuing her dreams. She got her break with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in 1988. Ryder kept playing successful roles in several movies. In 1993 Ryder was twice nominated for Academy Awards. One of them for her role In The Age of Innocence.
